Biography

April possesses a strong business background with experience managing millions of dollars in annual revenue for one of the nation's largest specialty retailers to overseeing operations of her family's construction company. In 2002 she worked in the Salisbury Campaign office for Elizabeth Dole's successful US Senate Campaign. Two years later April worked in Lima, OH for the 2004 Bush/Cheney campaign. In 2011 April became a preferred fundraising vendor for the NC House Republican Caucus and went on to raise money for over a dozen NC House members including the former House Majority Leader. In addition to successfully raising money for NC House Members, April has been a fundraising consultant to two NC Supreme Court Justices, three NC Court of Appeals Judges, three US Congressional Candidates, The Jesse Helms Center, and dozens of successful events for state, federal, and presidential candidates. Through her extensive political work April has built solid relationships with elected officials and their staff at the state and local level in North Carolina. April's ability to develop strong relationships with elected officials and department stakeholders allows her to consistently achieve policy objectives for her clients. April has worked extensively on issues related to urban transportation, healthcare, behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and aviation. April attended the University of Georgia and has a BA in Economics. April resides in Cornelius, NC outside of Charlotte with her yellow Lab, Faith. She supports the Lake Norman Community through Lake Norman Baptist Church, is an active member of Northstone Country Club, and Chairman of the Board for Teal Drops, a non-profit that seeks to end opioid addiction.
